my idea
Interpretation
The joint origin of the
cultures of Saudi Arabia and their local and regional differences are united in
my artistic work.
The doors of Saudi Arabia are a symbol of noble-mindedness, generosity,
hospitality and a strong sense of tradition. At the same time, this also
incorporates another dimension – peace and acceptance of others.
The traditional, engraved ornaments of the doors allow an insight into the art
of the different regions of Saudi Arabia. The soul of all regions of the kingdom
– left to us as cultural heritage by our grandfathers – is reflected in the
patterns of prayer carpets and women’s traditional costumes.
The earth was a source of inspiration for me – with its unswerving energy and
its spiritual dimension. My work establishes a relationship between my current
experiences and a hint of modernity, having accepted changes and conflicts.
I experience the intensity of colors in connection with space and time. Under
the influence of the sun, that has as strong an impact on me as the moon has on
the tides, I produce clear and sumptuous colors, but also calmer colors.

مدخل للفكرة
على الرغم من الوحدة المشتركة بين مناطق المملكة , لم يكن من السهل جمع كل الثقافات في عمل فني واحد. فالمملكة باتساع أراضيها تزخر بحضارات عديدة ومتنوعة.
فكان لابد لي من البحث عن تقاسيم مشتركة في المضمون مختلفة في الطرح "الشكل".
بدأت الفكرة من الأبواب في المملكة على اعتبار الباب رمز للكرم والضيافة والأصالة, وكبعد آخر يتضمن السلام و قبول الآخر.
حاولت من خلال بحثي وأهتمامي بالنقوش الزخرفية المحلية أخذ عينات من أبواب من مناطق مختلفة في المملكة مثل المنطقة الوسطى والشرقية والغربية والجنوبية.
بالإضافة إلى النقوش الزخرفية للسدو والسجاد والملابس الشعبية النسائية التي أنطلق منها في أعمالي منذ زمن بعيد والتي يشترك في روحها كل مناطق المملكة كأرث حضاري حمله الأجداد لنا.
وفي طرحي ثوابت أساسية منبعثة من الأرض كامتداد روحي وكمصدر ألهام, محاولا ربط ما أعيشه في حياتي وصياغته بهوية حديثة قابله للحركة والنقاش والبحث.
قيمة اللون قد تكون الفارق الزماني والمكاني الذي أعيشه, متأثرا مدا وجزرا بالشمس الحارة منعكسة في فضاءات لونية صريحة ساطعة تارة هادئة تارة أخرى, بشكل يجعلني أرى كل الألوان لها مكان في محيطي رغم تجريداتها وتلخيص عناصرها.
